Provides executive level direction in managing activities related to analysis, planning, and execution of fundraising/development goals of the agency. Provides strategic guidance, leadership and planning for all annual, major, planned and capital campaigns as well as special events designed to secure donations and expand community support. Responsible for overall direction of financial development, marketing, and public relations as it relates to fundraising. Manages the overall execution of web development and social media activities.

In addition to serving as Senior Vice President, appointed to develop and implement a comprehensive donor-centric advancement strategy, strengthening annual fund growth, alumni participation, major and special gifts, and capital campaign strategies. Led efforts to build endowment and fund other strategic priorities, positioning the college for the future. Partnered with the President/CEO in Board development, external relations, civic and institutional messaging.

Recruited to lead the interdisciplinary Prioritization Process, a multi-year self-examination of all academic programs and operations, increasing agility and competitiveness. Also reorganized the offices of Research, Planning and Evaluation; Compliance and Accreditation and centralized all Marketing, Communication, Creative Services and Public Affairs activities. Mentored senior leaders, helping them better plan and execute their roles as change agents. Led a team of 47 staff.

Hired to lead the offices of public affairs, marketing, and community relations, building and coordinating all external relationships with civic and community organizations. Coordinated external relationships, sustaining and building support for the campus through partnerships with the Chicago Office of the Mayor, the City Council, city agencies and chamber of commerce. Coordinated state and federal relations to ensure the sustainability of public grants and awards. Served as liaison for the Chancellor with national higher education organizations.

Recruited to develop and implement a long-term strategic plan for national and regional philanthropic activities that reflect the vision and priorities of the bank, i.e. education and the development of mixed income communities. Served as trusted adviser to senior management on philanthropic and community contribution issues. Leveraged opportunities to build public awareness of philanthropy activities. Served as visible leader in the corporate philanthropy community at the local, regional and national levels.
