Canadian Utilities Limited (ATCO) with its partner, Quanta Services, Inc, are participating in a joint ownership interest in Puerto Rico: LUMA Energy. The goal is to restore, modernize and operate Puerto Rico's electricity transmission and distribution system.•Direct supervision of Project Administrators and analysts ensuring cost recovery for time entry, expense coding, labour and third party costs for internal and external purposes•Ensure in-scope and out-of-scope secondees are onboarded properly; ensure shadow payroll is managed and calculated correctly by external accounting firm•Review invoices to LUMA, PREPA & FEMA to ensure validity of charges and calculations•Oversight, recommendations and communication regarding overhead calculation and recovery•Lead weekly meetings with LUMA Finance & Operations to review issues, validate decisions, discuss progress and relay deadlines•Represent LUMA Finance as lead in discussions and follow up with LUMA integration Management Office (Puerto Rico), HR, Treasury and other internal functions to review issues and status updates•Responsible for interfacing with external auditors and Tax in regard to audits and ongoing tax filings

•Managed a diversified team of nine individuals in Accounts Payable, Joint Venture, and Master Data Accounting. All deadlines were consistently met.•Accounts Payable team was processing 10,000 invoices monthly, $30M weekly with a total spend of $1B to $2B annually.•Saved $2M in 2020 and $1M in 2021 by implementing an optional Early Pay Discount program.•Implemented Open Invoice to replace an older system to increase efficiency of the Accounts Payable process. • Managed a team of five technical professionals in the analysis of PVR sales estimates vs. actuals, analysis of gas and liquid allocations from third party gas plants, analysis of gas plant shrinkage, and oil proration factors. • Recovered $1M because of incorrect liquid allocations from Operator.• Collaborated between Engineering, Operations, and Accounting to ensure measurement systems, field operations, and accounting systems were aligned.• Planned and chaired the annual Measurement Turnover meetings with field Foreman and Superintendents from five different field offices. • Integrated a billion-dollar acquisition of properties and systems, hiring and managing 30 operational accounting personnel, implementing best practices, processes, and controls.
