Having been in the printing industry all of my working life. Working in pre-press, estimating, production, sales and wanting to know how things work. I now have very broad knowledge of the printing industry. Having said that, with technology changing daily, if I don’t know something I won’t guess. I will certainly know someone who does. There is absolutely no point in guessing. 
I’m very hands on with the way that I work. I like to see the job through from conception to delivery. This way I know what’s going on and it’s good for quality control to have that extra pair eyes.
It is always helpful to have a conversation at the beginning of a project to spot any potential landmines. Especially if it’s a young designer and they are a little nervous. It will give them the confidence that the job will go well and run smoothly.
