Seconded into Chevron Australia as part of a JV team to assess the feasibility of, and develop a reference concept for, a subsea compression-based development concept for the Jansz-Io field, part of the Greater Gorgon LNG project.Responsible for identification and evaluation of the means by which subsea compression technology could complement the Gorgon foundation project by providing a compelling alternative to the reference development concept, a semi-submersible compression platform.Work undertaken led to the Joint Venture pursuing subsea compression as the preferred concept, eliminating the need for a manned offshore platform and meaning the project will become only the third ever application of subsea compression and the first in Australia.

Led a multidisciplinary team comprising subsurface, subsea and pipelines engineers, along with project services engineers to complete the concept select (pre-Basis for Design) phase for the development of the Concerto field, located 15 km north of Shell's Prelude FLNG development.Successfully delivered an independently assured, economically viable development concept comprising next generation flexible flowline technology and oversaw an overall reduction in capital costs of the subsea scope in excess of USD 900 million.The project was subsequently awarded the prize for Competitive Scoping within Shell's Projects and Technology organisation.

The Concerto gas field is located approximately 15 km north of the Shell operated Prelude development, the first field to utilise Shell's Floating LNG (FLNG) technology. With RFSU expected early next decade, Concerto will likely be the first brownfield subsea tie-back of a gas field to an FLNG facility.Responsible for leading all surface engineering activities for the Concerto development through concept selection key involvements being:- Identification and evaluation of development concepts;- Development of an integrated production system model for production forecasting and economic evaluation of a variety development scenarios against various subsurface realisations;- Development of an opportunity case map and portfolio economic modelling basis, allowing full economic evaluation of Concerto as part of the greater Prelude development;- Oversee Pipelines, Flow Assurance and Subsea (PFAS) work undertaken by Shell's Projects and Technology group in Kuala Lumpur to optimise subsea system architecture;- Evaluation of the extent of brownfield engineering scope on the Prelude FLNG facility;Also responsible for providing development engineering support to Shell's broader East Browse Basin portfolio of assets. Responsibilities include providing input to quarterly updates for the Royal Dutch Shell Board on the value of the portfolio, supporting the Shell's Crux development as well as a variety of exploration and M&A activities.

Providing Shell Development Australia's (SDA) portfolio of assets concept selection and development engineering advice in a range of areas, including:Support to non-operated ventures, including the following assets:Browse Project (2009-2012): Acted as the facilities engineering representative for Shell for the 15+ Tcf, 12 MTPA Browse megaproject, operated by Woodside Energy. Provided governance on behalf of Shell over the development of the asset via attendance of Technical Committee Meetings, collaboration with Shell subject matter experts and attendance at project technical assurance review events.Undertook preliminary evaluations of the feasibility of an FLNG-based field development, establishing the basis for detailed studies ultimately leading to the adoption of the concept over an onshore development at James Price Point.North West Shelf Project (2009-2010): Provided development engineering advice to support governance of SDA's stake in the NWS Project. Contributions included evaluation of short-term back-fill opportunities, the Greater Western Flank Project, the Lady Nora oil development as well as a number of exploration opportunities.Exploration and Commercial activities: • Working with internal M&A teams, provided extensive evaluation and input into the acquisition of prospective unconventional gas acreage in a number of basins in onshore Australia;• SDA's successful bid in partnership with Woodside Energy for three blocks in the Rowley sub basin (WA- 462-P, WA-464-P and WA-466-P) in 2011;• SDA's successful bid for WA-477-P (Scott Plateau, Browse Basin) in 2012;Technical advisory work in other corporate transaction activities, including exercising of pre-emption rights in NT/P 48 (Evans Shoal) and evaluation of a number of farm-in opportunities, including discussions with counter-parties around development concepts.Acted as regional focal point for quarterly portfolio reporting activities.

Projects include the following:Angel Field Development - Woodside Energy LtdInvolved in the concept engineering and FEED of the Angel platform, an 800 MMscfd unmanned gas processing facility proposed for the North West Shelf Venture. Responsibilities included studies to prove feasibility of power supply from the NRA platform, equipment selection, the development of equipment layouts, system design of and writing specifications for and assessing bids on packages including air cooled heat exchangers, chemical injection systems and process pumps.SEA Gas Pipeline - SEA Gas AustraliaLed flow assurance work, performing dynamic gas pipeline-modelling. Provided conceptual models for definition of flow capacity and compression requirements, through to detailed flow and sensitivity analyses for the development of haulage contracts. Also investigated performance requirements of gas turbine driven compressor packages, providing assistance on machinery selection.North West Shelf LNG Trains IV & V - Woodside Energy LtdEmployed as a rotating equipment engineer to:Collect lessons learnt from the construction of LNG train IV for implementation into the FEED / Execute phase for LNG train V;Assist in the selection and specification of rotating machinery for LNG train V. Machinery included compressors, AGRU solvent pumps and a variety of pumps in cryogenic service.Malampaya Platform Modifications - Shell Philippines ExplorationProvided mechanical engineering support for the independent design verification of an existing mercury trap pressure vessel to be retrofitted onto the platform. Responsible for conducting pipe stress analysis using Caesar II, as well as confirming compliance of the design with pressure vessel codes.
