Supporting Community Connections, or SCC, is a suicide prevention outreach program for transition aged youth (TAY) in the foster, homeless, and LGBTQ communities. In my role as program coordinator I provided culturally relevant suicide prevention support services to youth in foster, homeless, and LGBTQ+ communities by identifying and developing community resources and natural support systems for program participants and families. In addition I made referrals, assisted with service linkage, and educated individuals and families on how to access and use community health resources and services. As well as initiated, organized, and participated in community events and educational opportunities related to wellness and prevention services.

In my role I co-authored a curriculum for a Black maternal mental health support group at Cedar-Sinai Hospital. In addition I provided support for community health education programs such as Sisters at 8. I utilized social media to outreach to potential partners and professionals to collaborate and created content such as flyers, infographics, and podcasts to help increase community health education on a variety of topics including mental health and maternal mortality.
