Working as part of a small client team, the contract role covers oversight of the change processes in the shared ICT service contract for 4 Local Authorities, Hinckley and Bosworth Borough, Blaby District, Melton Borough and Oadby and Wigston Borough Councils. Worked closely with Outsourced provider Steria in the management of a Transition to a new Business Model and Contract.

Work with the Council assisting with the set up of a new Customer Services Centre, included major changes to Telephony, CRM implementation and EDRM system introduction. Involved hands on development of the Firmstep CRM system and introducing Council wide Back Office use of the CRM.

Assisting my client with "Onboarding" Services, including technical liasion with suppliers to ensure the implementation meets business change objectives in an pragmatic timescale. The role incorporated significant technical development work using intelligent image processing and workflow. Utilising hi-spec OPEX scanning equipment and the OpenText Enterprise Content Server, together the OpenText Capture Centre software to automate business processes based on document content. The work also included development work using C# scripting, as well as management reports / business cases etc. The whilst I was involved with the project it received a major international award for implementation.

I took charge of 3 transformation projects* Corporate GIS* Corporate EDRMS* Corporate Asset Managementvalued over £1m in total, ensuring that all 3 completed their procurement processes in just over 3 months. I utilised the "lean procurement" methodology, creating stakeholder buy-in and the associated business cases, achieved tight deadlines as part of a wider transformation programme. I also undertook a business review of the Councils Carelink Service and identified significant budget savings. I am currently completing handover of the projects and documenting a Corporate Resource Booking system project, prior to the end of the month. In addition I also specified Audio Visual equipment for a new multi-million £ Council House project and reviewed an interactive website for homeless people.

I provided a complete range of services to the group to develop it's "Making ICT Ready" shared services programme. The group consists of all the Councils within Nottinghamshire (County, City and 7 District Councils). As well as being responsible for overall programme management I provided additional expertise and project resource for many of the individual projects including benchmarking, ICT Service Desk redesign, Systems Alignment, Infrastructure standardisation, PSN connection, Procurement, Security etc.

In the role I oversaw a radical change of ICT service to improve performance levels, underlaying technology and introduce a single support service for administration and customer services. As well as introducing the first corporate e-mail system and web site, the role also covered corporate responsibility for Year 2000 resilience plans.

Various roles throughout the ICT Service, starting as a Senior Analyst (Personal Computing Officer) in 1986, moving through Principal Analyst / Project Leader / Project Manager, in charge of Networking and Telecommunications and ICT Helpdesk, along with PC support (in its initial phase). Introduced Unix based Office systems and the 1st PC network (Novell). Commissioned 1st Council Web Site. Lead the project to move 350 staff into a new building in 1992. Implemented multiple projects to commission new buildings for use on ICT network, became ITIL accredited in 1997.

Working as a developer for Micro Computers I was instrumental in introducing more structure and standards to the programming environment. Worked on various multi-user systems to support the shoe industry.
