I advise and support professors seeking to use web-conferencing software to create blended (half on-line, half in-person) courses. I've collaborated with professors in the departments of Education, Sociology, and Business Management as well as the University’s Co-op program. I analyze teaching needs and student learning outcomes through discussions with professors, then help them develop a plan for incorporating online instruction into the course curriculum. I demonstrate features of the web-conferencing software that support the teaching and learning needs and provide technical documentation and support for teachers and students. I analyzed specific OIPA information (including enrollments, course sizes and languages spoken) and developed a plan to revamp the OPIA website and other documents. This work led to a more compelling and easier to navigate system to find the data. I worked closely with a team that included two other consultants, staff from the OIPA, and the University’s Communication Services.

As the teaching assistant for Learning Theories (ETEC 613) taught by Dr. Philip Abrami, assist students in developing and refining topics for a literature review submitted as a final class project and answering questions about the readings.

During my tenure, this monthly newsmagazine (circulation 30,000) won 30 Parenting Media Association Editorial Awards. I also won four gold awards for my education column, as well as a gold award for a personal essay (2007) and a silver for a travel-writing feature (2010). My job responsibilities included developing story ideas and writing articles, briefs, and headlines. I collaborated closely with a group of freelance contributors, overseeing and editing their work. I also researched and wrote a monthly column looking at education and schooling in Montreal. Other responsibilities included participating in the monthly production process, from selecting stories to proofreading the final pages for corrections.
