That involved market research, feasibility reports, joint venture proposals and start up setup of the business.Product DevelopmentBeing and IT Marketing Specialist, played a key role in the development of two major products for Galileo Emirates, coordinated with all parties to come up with viable and successful product from idea to implementation.Airline SolutionsMarketed Videcom; a UK based airlines hosting solutions product (for small to medium carriers size airlines, specially the LCC- low cost carriers), from Sudan to Kuwait and from Pakistan to Nepal.

I was responsible to run external markets under Galileo Emirates' partnership, execute business operations in the countries mainly Pakistan, Qatar and Sudan to increase market share, maintain and increase profitability and expand customer base form a GDS' perspective.

Galileo was introduced in Pakistan in 1997, and I was part of the team who started it in Aug 1997. Being with a new company with high staff turnover intially, had to work as tech support, helpdesk support and field support executive simultaneouly providing the company a small business growth but a solid base for further growth in future. Today Galileo holds over 40% market share in Pakistan.

The largest hotel chain in Pakistan with 5 PC and 2 Marriott Hotels. Worked for the head office of the chain as a Sales Coordinator to work with and assist the Vice President Sales & Marketing. My job was to deal with advertising agencies, promotions partners (American Expres, Dinners Club, Pizza Hut etc) for the hotels to run different marketing activities. One of my achievements was to handle the entire movement of the teams, crew, media personnel, security, officials and enthusiast during the Cricket World Cup in 1996 through a self designed automated process.

In the era of computers just being introduced to the organizations in Pakistan, I was hired to assist a team of 10 MBA market research officers and their head a PhD, to generate reports on many unexplored exportable commodities in the country to promote their demand for export in foreign countries. I wrote their reports using many presentation and statistical tools varying from MS Office to SPSS etc. I was also instrumental in publishing an exporter’s guide published by EPB. My duty was to gather data, contacts, commodities and potential markets by category and shape it as a book to be made available to country’s exporters.
