Primarily responsible to maintain, repair and overhaul aircraft and components in accordance with standard aviation practices and manufacturers' recommendations e.g AMM,TSM/FIM, ASM, WDM/AWM, IPC.Remains abreast with improvements in technology and standard practices. Maintains, repairs and overhauls aircraft and associated components as per manufacturers'/ vendor manuals and authorized work scope.Reports to Aircraft Engineers of any abnormality or defect noted on aircraft/ components in the vicinity of his areas of work. Attends arrival and departure of aircraft to promptly rectify last moment snags and service aircraft systems under the supervision of certifying Officer Engineering or Aircraft Engineer.Takes all safety precautions while undertaking his work (Fire Fighting, electric shorting, inadvertent operation of systems etc.) to prevent loss or damage to personnel or equipment.Accumulates a wide range of experience in the area of his work.Report defects in ground equipment, special tools, trestles, docks and suggest fabrication or changes to the same for improved productivity and safety.Maintains a Tool Kit with an adequate quality and quantity of tools. Keep his tool kit in a neat and organised form and present for inspection to an Aircraft Engineer upon demand. Maintains a list of tools present in the tool kit and coordinates with the aircraft engineer for replenishment if required.
