I pursued dual undergraduate majors in Math and Physics at MIT, with a concentration in philosophy. After completing my undergrad degrees in 7 semesters, I earned my PhD from MIT in physics in 4 years and was instrumental in the discovery of the top quark at Fermilab's CDF experiment. Then I was an Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, with a focus on supersymmetry searches, Higgs boson physics, and advanced electronics for Fermilab and CERN.Transitioning to Silicon Valley, with a track record of three exits, my entrepreneurial journey began with an enterprise middleware company, which not only weathered the dot com storm but also caught the attention of big investors (DFJ, Vodafone) and was eventually acquired by Semotus solutions. Subsequently, I founded a series of companies that developed innovations from chemical and biological threat detection sensors (funded by DARPA and the major customer was the US army) to inkjet printed photo-diodes for diagnostics and a robotics-based tracking system for solar projects (major investors included NEA, Draper, Siemens, EON and Iberdrola), which was acquired by Solarcity (now Tesla).From founding startups, I transitioned to supporting them, first as an EIR at NEA focusing on deeptech, and later as a partner at Draper Nexus, also centered on cutting-edge technology ventures. Subsequently I joined tech giants. At Google, I led moonshot initiatives in smart cities, birthing Sidewalk Labs. Then at Amazon, I captained a 300-strong team, pioneering live-streamed marketplaces, innovative consumer devices, and real-time ML solutions for video optimization. Additionally, I played a pivotal role in initiating Amazon's foray into quantum computing.Currently, I am channeling my experience working on three areas of interest: Developing and commercializing quantum technologies, early-stage lung cancer diagnostics, and technologies required for cognitive cities.
