I am an enthusiastic, open-source-loving Software Engineer based in Seattle, Washington, with a strong passion for technology and a focus on backend development, systems development, and container/network infrastructure. I thrive working on (both directly and indirectly) Linux, and have even developed my own Unix-based kernel and operating system. I have completed several courses at the University of Washington, including algorithms, AI, data visualization, functional programming, and even developed a full-stack Dungeons & Dragons application.I currently work at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where I currently work on firmware for existing and future compute platforms, as well as the surrounding infrastructure for testing & deployment. Previously at AWS, I worked on a Linux-based server provisioning service where my project recovered >80% of hosts in a known fail state. Furthermore, this project significantly reduced the time engineers spent on operations by hundreds of hours.In my free time, I enjoy exploring niche communities within technology, currently NixOS, and its unique declarative approach to building systems. I've also been enjoying configuring emacs and becoming familiar with LISP-family languages. Outside the tech world, I enjoy cycling, hiking, reading, and paddleboarding.I am always eager to embrace new opportunities and would be delighted to discuss any potential roles.
