FHW Capital was incorporated in July 2013 and provides services to infrastructure debt investors including origination and execution of transactions, due diligence, structuring and managing agent services.I led the financing of Salford Social Housing PFI for FHW Capital. This transaction reached financial close on 17/09/13 and involved issuing and placing £82.6m of 29 year wholesale bonds, listed on the Irish Stock Exchange, comprising £71.7m of Class A senior secured notes and £10.9m of Class B junior secured notes.

This covered transaction structuring, credit analysis and liaising with institutional investors. My key achievements at Hadrian’s Wall Capital include:• Supporting the first close of Aviva Investors Hadrian Capital Fund 1 in May 2012;• Leading the bid to provide debt finance to Glasgow College NPD, for which Hadrian’s Wall Capital presented the most competitive capital markets solution;• Providing credit analysis and/or bid support for half a dozen other UK PFI deals in the transport (roads and bridges), waste, acute health, social housing and university accommodation sectors.

I was responsible for overseeing the financial, legal and commercial aspects of originating and executing new PPP/PFI deals in the education, waste, health and social housing sectors. I sat on the boards of a number of Lend Lease group companies and PFI project companies, and worked closely with the asset-management team to provide commercial support to existing, operational projects.I was also responsible for developing and implementing the capital recycling strategy for the business, successfully transacting recent divestments on the secondary market, and managing relationships with senior debt lenders and equity partners. My achievements at Lend Lease include:• Building & managing a high-performing team of twenty transaction specialists;• Recruiting a General Counsel and establishing a legal panel for the PFI/PPP business;• Developing a standard returns model and set of metrics for investment appraisal;• Achieving financial close on three PFIs and one major PFI variation;• Selling two hospital investments on the open market (and preparing a third for sale);• Supporting the establishment of a Lend Lease managed Fund (and acting sell-side for the transfer of a portfolio of sixteen assets);• Successfully renegotiating debt covenants on a number of projects to preserve equity value.

Involved in financing aspects of Kent BSF, the Tameside BSF bid, and supporting bids for a number of street-lighting projects.

Involved in closing East Dunbartonshire PFI, and bidding Fife Hospital, St Lukes Mental Health, Knowsley BSF and Wigan JSC. Worked with AWE on economic appraisal of various Scottish on-shore wind energy projects.

Advising public sector and private sector clients on PPP/PFI projects across a range of sectors including education, primary health, leisure and specialising in criminal justice and emergency services projects (police, fire, courts, prisons).
