The Sandbox Project is national charity with a mandate to bring together leading researchers, governments, charities, and industry to improve child and youth health in Canada. The vision of The Sandbox Project is to make Canada the healthiest place on earth for a child to grow up. The Sandbox Project has four main working groups that are composed of industry representatives and experts. Each working group outlines the priority area for the organization in their respective fields that I then work to implement along with our President & CEO. The main subject areas are: Injury Prevention, Growing Healthy Bodies, Mental Health and the Environment. As the only employee of the national charity some of my other responsibilities include the general administration of the organization, partner development, policy development, fundraising, Board support and government relations.

Summer Student Research and Policy Analyst for the Employment and Labour Policy & Program Development Branch

Working for the solid waste management division I assessed the feasibility of aligning the Daily and Community Newspaper Stewardship Agreements with directions taken by the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment regarding Extended Producer Responsibility. This involved consulting with the newspaper industry as well as the municipalities within the province.

Researched and developed advocacy campaigns, developed and supported communications materials and supported general government relations.
