My first year saw me working within the Pipelines and Civil Engineering team in Sunbury, working within a central team which provides technical support and expertise to regions and projects.I spent my second year in based in Baku, Azerbaijan, as part of a 'Personal Development of High Potential Staff' initiative where I worked in the Subsea Pipelines Operations team working to deliver safe, efficient and compliant operations.My third year was a design role based in the UK on the Oman Khazzan project which has seen me exposed to a wide pipelines scope - carbon steel (lined and non-lined), duplex, GRE and HDPE lines - and a variety of design methodologies (including stress and strain based design). I was specifically responsible for delivery of the GRE and HDPE water distributions package. Currently I am based in the field as the sole Pipeline Engineering representative where I resolve technical issues on site, and work closely with construction contractors and suppliers to deliver the project.Technical service work has included: pipeline design validation including stress and strain based design; in-house guidance development relating to procurement of numerical analysis; work on lateral buckling and CRA lines; and, FEA modelling of inline inspection plug forces and stresses on temporary bypass pipework.Working towards IMechE chartership on the MPDS.

Project manager and technical intern working with Jaguar Land Rover and IBM to develop solutions in the area of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).Competed with 900 applicants for one of 16 places. I was specifically responsible for developing pattern recognition software and the back end of the system, as well as liaising closely with the client, other stakeholders and media (BBC, ComputerWeekly, Sunday Times).Submitted 4 patent disclosures internally to IBM and gave weekly presentations, culminating in a European demonstration and presentation to around 150 people.

PLC programming of an emergency stop system, HMI development as part of a valve test bed commissioning project and development of disposal and replacement programme for hydraulic equipment.

Stock control, and roles of responsibility including supervising the department and workplace. I was heavily involved with staff training and had a high level of customer interaction. Within this role I gained experience working within a demanding environment and gained an appreciation for high quality in all areas of work.
