Pipeline Engineer
CurrentMy first year saw me working within the Pipelines and Civil Engineering team in Sunbury, working within a central team which provides technical support and expertise to regions and projects.I spent my second year in based in Baku, Azerbaijan, as part of a 'Personal Development of High Potential Staff' initiative where I worked in the Subsea Pipelines Operations team working to deliver safe, efficient and compliant operations. My third year was a design role based in the UK on the Oman Khazzan project which has seen me exposed to a wide pipelines scope - carbon steel (lined and non-lined), duplex, GRE and HDPE lines - and a variety of design methodologies (including stress and strain based design). I was specifically responsible for delivery of the GRE and HDPE water distributions package. Currently I am based in the field as the sole Pipeline Engineering representative where I resolve technical issues on site, and work closely with construction contractors and suppliers to deliver the project.Technical service work has included: pipeline design validation including stress and strain based design; in-house guidance development relating to procurement of numerical analysis; work on lateral buckling and CRA lines; and, FEA modelling of inline inspection plug forces and stresses on temporary bypass pipework.Working towards IMechE chartership on the MPDS.
