Summary: Directly responsible for up to 1000 employees on new construction, turnaround, and maintenance projects. Projects that I directly oversaw the construction of include a Hydrogen Reformer, Reformate Splitter, Light Ends Unit, Light Ends Recovery Unit, Belco Scrubber, Gasoline Diesel Unit, Low Sulfur Diesel Unit, Firewater, Wastewater and Powerhouse upgrades, 5000 to 80,000 bbl storage tanks, bullets, and spheres. I was responsible for several projects where I directed development teams and implemented repeatable processes. I was motivated both by the challenge of finishing the projects ahead of schedule and by managing the teams that achieved our goals. A successful history in completing "grassroots" facilities, new process units, plant revamps and upgrades, refinery expansions, turnarounds, and ongoing routine maintenance services. 16 years without a lost time accident for baseload activities. Coordinated efforts in implementing, acquiring and maintaining OSHA VPP Star Site status. Implemented training programs that eliminate work related injuries / illnesses. Developed and presented specific hazard recognition training. Design, purchase, and install industrial fire suppression equipment for plant facilities. Develop and implement company policies and procedures. Supervision of new construction projects including but not limited to: excavation, structural, pipe and vessel fabrication, scaffolding, electrical, carpentry, and tank construction. Supervision of maintenance projects including but not limited to: day to day plant operational activities, turnarounds, confined space, chemical awareness, hazardous waste management, equipment and tool inspections.
