I have over 20 years of experience in the United States Air Force, primarily serving in Air Traffic Control. I specialize in Terminal Instrument Procedures (TERPS) and have over ten years of experience researching, analyzing, and correcting publications and communications for the USAF. During my time with the USAF, I have also served as a trainer in multiple capacities and have ensured clear communication between trainees, Commanders, and other personnel.Other responsibilities have included managing hundreds of millions of dollars in equipment, computer hardware, and government purchase cards, innovating countless ways to increase proficiency of systems in order to decrease training times and save the USAF millions of dollars, and coordinating and tracking the career paths of hundreds of Air Force personnel.I am also passionate about building community and being of service in any capacity I can. Throughout all of my positions over the years, I have taken every opportunity to coordinate volunteer activities for local youth, churches, and other organizations in order to provide food and clothing to those who are in need in the community and help with relief efforts after natural disasters. I also care deeply about mental health and overall wellbeing, which has led me to start wellness programs and lead Sexual Harassment Education Training lectures for members of the Air Force.I am quickly approaching my retirement from the USAF, and it has been a joy to serve my country and comrades for the past two decades. I currently lead a 12-member joint-service team and am responsible for managing the readiness training and deployment requirements for more than 850 personnel. I work collaboratively with fifteen other offices on the base, multiple organizations at the regional office, and headquarters directorates in order to ensure that tasked personnel have all of the training and resources they need to successfully complete their deployment tasking anywhere in the world. I also serve as the Anti-violence Coordinator, Integrator, and Implementer (Green Dot) and Master Resilience Trainer.In this position, I have developed a tracking system to identify changes to the deployment process and rapidly share the changes with all affected personnel in order to enhance the success of the deployment management team and the personnel served. This tracking system increased the efficiency of the team and ensured that the best air traffic controllers, pilots, radar technicians, etc. were selected before being sent to areas of conflict. Using this system allows all team members involved to keep track of all updates and qualifications in order to streamline processes and determine replacements when necessary.

As Unit Training Manager, I performed as the training manager for the United States Air Force’s largest and only active duty Air Traffic Control Squadron after being handpicked by the Commander from 16 Master Sergeants.In this position, I was responsible for developing and evaluating all training programs and specialized courses for 122 members. I regularly conducted formal inspections and staff-assisted audits and worked in collaboration with the lead trainer under each flight in order to ensure their training program was up to Air Force standards. Additionally, I inspected every detail of thousands of recorded task items in order to assess safety risks, prevent any miscommunications, and ensure everything was up to standard.As training manager, I led apprentice Airmen in their career development programs, keeping their training progression on track while collecting suggestions that could streamline different training processes. Throughout this process, I continually served as the interface between the Commander and trainees, ensuring clear and continual communication at all times.I coordinated technical development for nine different career fields, including Air Traffic Controllers, HVAC personnel, radar and airfield technicians, and IT personnel. I tracked every piece of training needed, including upgrades, tests, certifications, and hours of experience, ensuring they were completed in the necessary time requirements. Additionally, I was responsible for planning personnel training requirements for a $43 million Deployed Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems (DATCALS) enterprise sustainment so that all personnel can be deployed quickly when needed and systems can continue running efficiently and effectively. I ensured that all personnel were prepared for global deployment at all times and orchestrated humanitarian relief operations.

Air Traffic Control Standardization And Evaluation

In this position, I operated Deployable Air Traffic Control (ATC) and Landing Systems, Mobile Air Traffic Control tower, and Mobile Radar Approach Control, valued at $14 million. I trained, certified and managed ATC personnel at deployed locations, while working collaboratively in the survey of Deployed Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems (DATCALS) equipment in order to ensure that all oversized pieces of equipment were transferred safety and properly from point A to point B.I also maintained Air Traffic Control facility management publications and supplies at all times. I ensured that printed and digital copies of all necessary publications required by the FAA and AF were up to date and in proper possession at all times. When needed, I was responsible for researching, identifying, analyzing, and correcting any changes or updates to publications immediately and communicating such changes to necessary personnel. I monitored controller performance and ensured proper use of visual and instrument flight rules and non-radar procedures to identify and validate safety management principles. I simultaneously collaborated with the various leadership teams in order to help them identify, analyze, and understand system deficiencies and how to build comprehensive plans to resolve the issues causing the deficiencies. I applied strong leadership and mentorship skills and served as an instrumental airfield operations member during the startup of the first Air Force active duty Air Traffic Control Squadron.

As a Flight NCOIS and Air Base Support staff member, I was responsible for leading the Air Base Support section, which ensured quality assurance for United States Air Force Bases in Europe. I was accountable for evaluating instrument flight procedures (IFPs) in European Command, Central Command, and Africa Command areas of responsibility.I also maintained vital aeronautical information ensuring safe, accurate and timely USAF instrument flight procedures. I developed internationally compliant instrument procedures in direct support of real-time Department of Defense flying operations. Additionally, I was responsible for training, certifying, and managing approximately 25 ATC personnel at several deployed locations.During my time in this position, I published 450 charts and procedures which were used by pilots throughout Europe and Africa. I also designed and coordinated the publication of two Cat II instrument landing system (ILS) approach procedures at Manas AB, Kyrgyzstan, enabling safe, accurate and timely instrument flight procedures for civil and USAF forces. This reduced operational down time by 45 days.I also managed a $90,000 Government Purchase Card and deconflicted a $48,000 increase in training caused by personnel turnover.
