I enjoy taking macro photography. It allows me to see what holds the bigger things together in the natural world. We are so caught up in the big picture stuff that we often miss what make things work. I live in and work in two world views aboriginal culture and contemporary science. It can be tricky finding the right balance. So just take a moment to hear things. It’s not so much about proving right or wrong. It's more about the strengths, experiences and knowledge. That's what I like to focus on. As an Aboriginal person I believe I can offer understandings and knowledge much like a macro lens. My background. Qualifications are Certificate III, IV, Diploma and Bachelor of Applied Science relevant to conservation, land management and aboriginal culture management of country. Training qualifications TAA40104-TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, relevant to the NRM, training and cultural domains. Current Smartrain (Chem-weed management).Have worked within the social, political and cultural domains of Aboriginal culture, communities and organisations communicating a range of contexts. Employed with indigenous, government, statutory and NGOs agencies for the past 30 years. Former and current roles/projects all involved working close with the community and inter agencies levels to strengthen knowledge, experience and process. Experience in creating educational resources, training guides. Experienced with GPS, QGIS, Google Earth Pro. Shape, catalogued files, KML, KMZ, way points, projections, Landsat 8 etc. Experienced facilitator, mentor etc. Developed Aboriginal ranger traineeships. A former lecturer in Conservation and Land Management. Set-up and coordinated Aboriginal ranger projects and mentoring processes in the NT.
