RESPONSIBILITIES:• Provide assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control environment• Supervising an audit team of two internal auditors so that they deliver consistent, high quality performance.• Plan and manage allocated audits so that they are completed on time and to agreed standards.• Business process analysis • Reviewing audit planning, fieldwork and completion.• Consolidate audit findings and prepare audit reports and present to line management.• Develop relationships with line and senior management in the business • Perform analysis of audit findings to identify themes for senior management to address. • Reporting audit findings and the implication thereof to the Audit Management Committee • Monitor time and cost of audits.EXPOSURE: • Audits on South African operations and International (Africa) operations • Engen affiliate companies audited – Botswana, Namibia, DRC, Tanzania, Ghana, Burundi, Uganda, Lesotho• Areas audited for African countries: Overall management, Procurement, Cash management, Stock Management, Credit Management, HR, Fixed Assets • Further, Head Office functions are audited for African operations.• Areas audited for SA: Stock Depot operations, Sales and Marketing Division, Business Development, Retail operations, Lubes operations, Refinery operations, Supply, Trade and Optimisation Division, Corporate Planning, Finance department, Procurement department, Information Services department, Treasury department, Tax department, Construction and Engineering department, Shipping department, Property Development department • IT reviews performed on various departments• Due diligence on Mergers and Acquisitions• Assisting in Forensic investigations• Audits performed on various projects, e.g. Woolworths roll out to service stations and Rollout of the automation of the service station forecourts in SA and Africa.
