Based off of my previous skill sets and aptitude test I was hand-picked to operate the cut-off operations and quality assurance of the largest tubing mill at Wheatland’s Chicago location. I am responsible for the accuracy and final output of hundreds of thousands of tons of cut product per day in addition to preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of the cut-off machine. Upon arrival on the job site I was also given the task to completely reorganize our tooling area for increased productivity of machine maintenance and elimination of obsolete parts to create a more sustainable manner of monitoring part inventory. It is also my duty to quality inspect the final output ensuring welding seams are made, zinc adhesion and paints are applied in full to prevent rust and that there are no other impurities present. If the product does not meet standards I must promptly ascertain where the problem is coming from and communicate with that employee to amend the error. Show less
