Oversaw the Livelihoods and Nutritional Empowerment (LINE) project in Bauchi State in northern Nigeria which aims to improve the livelihoods of 10,000 rural farmer households, of which 60% of the beneficiaries are women, through increased farm productivity, enhanced market access, better nutrition and an enhanced enabling environment for agricultural business development.

Oversaw the field program of the Canada/Sri Lanka Municipal Cooperation Program (MCP), a CAD$11.5 million project funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).MCP's goal was to support national post-tsunami reconstruction efforts in Sri Lanka and to create an enabling environment for peace building by increasing local government capacities and through the promotion of good intergovernmental relations.Led the process of newly establishing and then closing (at project completion) six project offices in the country and creating systems compatible with FCM accounting and administrative systems and procedures.Developed the project implementation plan, budgets and annual work plans.Recruited and mentored nineteen personnel in Sri Lanka.Mobilized the skills and experience of project participants from Canadian municipalities towards the effective and efficient project inception, implementation and the anticipated project outcomes.Made strategic decisions about the use of project resources for municipal development in a challenging post-disaster context.Established the mechanisms for two grant schemes within the program framework.Established a national federation of local governments in Sri Lanka. Maintained cordial relationships with Sri Lankan government partners as the Country Representative for FCM.

Supported the implementation and direction of the Project for Rehabilitation through Education and Training (PRET), a vocational training initiative targeting female and male youth, as well as the scaling up of PRET and the development of strategies for implementation in a post-tsunami environment.Provided support to Program Development initiatives of WUSC - Sri Lanka including supporting the development of concept papers, proposals and budgets for potential donors.Provided support to the Program Unit in refining/developing and implementing the partner capacity building strategy for PRET and in supporting the PRET Regional Offices in enhancing the quality of capacity building programming.

Managed the field office on all issues of financial and administrative management and grant development and implementation for a USAID/Office of Transition Initiatives-funded project whose objective was to build support for a negotiated settlement to Sri Lanka's (then) twenty year conflict.Managed and directed the development of the overall regional program strategy.Managed the drafting of grants for concurrence by USAID/Office of Transition Initiatives and the subsequent grant agreements and oversaw the programmatic and implementation monitoring of each grant activity.

Had overall responsibility for managing all financial and administrative aspects of the Lao country program.Provided strategic programming direction to the Lao country program as well as to CUSO's regional programming framework. Managed all aspects of CUSO-administered rural development projects in Lao PDR which included livelihoods support to marginalized communities, sustainable agriculture, traditional medicine, government and CBO capacity development, micro credit and support to indigenous organizations.Wrote project funding proposals to support the overall aims of the country program and followed up with reports to donors and partners.Represented CUSO to the Government of Lao PDR.

Advised on and supported all CUSO-administered rural development and livelihoods projects and volunteers on project placements in Lao PDR.

Assisted government and non-governmental organizations with village-level Integrated Pest Management (IPM) training and extension for rice and vegetable farmers.

Assisted with field trials on cereals and legumes.Conducted laboratory analyses on plant fungal diseases.

Assisted with all aspects of soil fertility trials on forage crops.

Designed and implemented an agricultural extension program for local farmers with special attention to rural women.Conducted small-scale on- and off-farm trials using locally available resources.Conducted workshops and seminars for farmers and government personnel on improved farming techniques.Networked with and supported a number of new civil society groups across Nigeria.
