  • Korn Ferry
Senior Associate - Global Software Practice
    Korn Ferry Jun 2019 - Jun 2020
    Los Angeles, Ca, Us
After a career in the USMC, I chose to step into the executive search industry. In this role I work to leverage my experience of leading Marines to climb mountains, both physically and metaphorically, to identify the spark of leadership, learning agility, grit, and vision of success in tomorrow's technology executives. Additionally, I stand on the foundations of the USMC's Core Values of honor, courage, and commitment to create companionship with clients as they seek to build their teams and companies for the battle of business. As a leading Senior Associate in the Korn Ferry Technology and Software practice I oversaw the execution and placement of multiple C-Suite level searches of CEO, CFO, CMO, CCO, COO, GM positions. These searches spanned all business functions and ranged from pure SaaS organizations to IaaS, and technology manufacturing to aerospace & defense production. After cutting my teeth in a world-class firm and learning from some of the industry's best, I stepped into a larger role of influence and responsibility with Raines International.
  • United States Marine Corps
Assistant Battalion Operations Officer - 2Nd Battalion, 6Th Marines
United States Marine Corps Aug 2018 - May 2019
    Washington, Dc, Us
Promoted to the rank of Captain and with an appreciation for the complexity of the two deployments I had led Marines on, the Battalion Commander suggested I serve as the Assistant Operations Officer. I directly supported the Operations Officer, as a Chief of Staff like role, in realizing our missions to prepare for, equip our companies to train properly, and to manage the multiple supporting functions to ensure success. I prepared critical pre-reads and data for each leadership team gathering. I worked on numerous initiatives to help our team work smarter and train the Marines for combat; including a Sharepoint site, alignment of functions/resources, consolidated list of training programs, and developed unit comradery events. My role positioned me as an information hub and conductor of operations as Marines turned to me to remove roadblocks or add clarity. Working closely with our Operations Officer, I contributed inspiration and ideas for new programs and served as a thought partner.
  • United States Marine Corps
    Company Executive Officer - Company G - 2Nd Battalion, 6Th Marines
United States Marine Corps Feb 2017 - Jul 2018
    Washington, Dc, Us
Following my 1st deployment, I was reassigned to 2/6 and promoted to serve as the Executive Officer of Company G where I closely partnered with the Company Commander to ensure the success of the unit across multiple requirements and goals. In this position, I was second in command of 270 Marines and was responsible for the day-to-day success and strategic planning to prepare for and execute a deployment to the Middle East and Northern Africa. During preparation for our deployment, my company was identified as the most skilled and was rapidly activated to respond to the devastation caused by Hurricane Irma and Maria to the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Within 24 hours, I had prepared 150 Marines to travel to Norfolk, VA and depart on the USS IWO JIMA to assist with disaster recovery for the next 8 weeks. Our deployment aboard the USS NEW YORK (Feb-Aug 2018) took my unit off the coast of Libya to support special operations in the region. In addition to being the "rescue force" for many missions, the Marines and I influenced diplomatic meetings in the region and assisted with the rescue of 106 stranded migrants in the Mediterranean Sea.
  • United States Marine Corps
Platoon Commander - Caat Platoon - 1St Battalion, 6Th Marines
United States Marine Corps Apr 2015 - Jan 2017
    Washington, Dc, Us
As a platoon commander I was assigned to lead the Combined Anti-Armor Team. This unit consisted of 42 Marines that operated at the fringes of the battlefield using 8 armored Humvees mounted with heavy machine-guns and missile systems. I was responsible for the platoon's training, welfare, and operational readiness during the 14 months we used to prepare for a deployment by training in the California Sierra Nevada, the hills of Virginia, and the swamps of North Carolina. From Jun-Dec 2016 I led the platoon on a deployment aboard the USS SAN ANTONIO to the Middle East and Northern Africa where we served as the "Rescue Team" for special operators in Yemen and Libya. In addition to the combat readiness that I was responsible for and achieved with the unit, my platoon was the most awarded platoon and received the most meritorious promotions of the entire Marine Corps force (+4000) we were deployed with. This is the accomplishment that I am most proud of as developing talent and empowering a team are items that I value most.
  • United States Marine Corps
Student, The Basic School & Infantry Officer Course
United States Marine Corps May 2014 - Apr 2015
    Washington, Dc, Us
I attended The Basic School with Echo Company 2015 (5-14), graduated 32 of 290 students, and was selected to serve as an Infantry Officer in the Marine Corps. I then attended the winter Infantry Officers Course (2-15) in Quantico, VA and was selected as one of two Marines to lead my peers as a Platoon Commander through the 3-month course.
