I have worked for Powerlink Queensland for more than 40 years (from SEAQ, QEGC, QEC to Powerlink). Powerlink is a government-owned corporation that owns, operates, develops and maintains the high voltage electricity transmission network across Queensland. Powerlink's Vision is: We are innovative and customer focused with a stronger business and reputation.In my role as a Communications and Control Engineering Officer, I performed all tasks including the installation, maintenance, fault analysis and repair work on Powerlink's communications and control system assets.I progressed into a role as a Communications and Control Section Leader, I lead and managed secondary systems field staff and provided technical expertise to the team. The focus of the role was to deliver safe and efficient execution of work packages and ensure the effective development, capability and performance across my team members.In my current role as a Telecommunications Technical Advisor, I provide expert telecommunications technical advice to project teams to ensure the safe and effective project planning, execution and commissioning of Telecommunication assets in the Powerlink high voltage transmission network. In addition, I am also required to inspect telecommunication infrastructure works, confirming quality assurance and ensuring compliance with Powerlink’s project delivery standards.
