Wayne is passionate about regional health services and is proud to call the Riverland region of South Australia home.Originally from New Zealand, Wayne relocated to South Australia in 2011, to lead services through the $69 million redevelopment of Whyalla Hospital, before relocating to the Riverland to lead services through the redevelopment of Riverland General Hospital and through many other changes and improvements. Wayne went on to become Chief Operating Officer of Country Health SA (responsible for 61 hospitals across all of regional South Australia) before becoming Chief Executive Officer of the Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network one of 6 organisations that were formed when Country Health SA was dissolved in June 2019.Wayne is committed to providing safe, effective, reliable care that meets the needs of consumers and communities. He has a particular interest in Aboriginal Health and strives to ensure that health services meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people.As inaugural CEO of Riverland Mallee Coorong LHN, Wayne has been responsible for strategy development, and has led numerous service improvements, including the development of the Riverland Academy of Clinical Excellence, a clinical education and research arm of the Local Health Network.Wayne has also led the planning and coordination SA Health's response to COVID-19 for rural and regional communities in South Australia.
