Built a global Information Security team to provide security infrastructure, processes, and policies to manage the company's information exposure and risk, while assuring SARBOX and PCI compliance. Also organized & directed the company's efforts to provide payment processing as a Managed Service through a strategy of data center consolidation and application standardization. Scope of both activities included Americas, Asia/Pacific, Europe/Middle East/Africa.

Led the IT team through period of high growth, both organically and via acquisition. Rapidly assimilated acquired teams into the global IT organization, coordinating teams in US, Asia/Pacific, Latin America, UK/Europe, and the Middle East, to effectively maintain worldwide standards for systems, tools and processes. Helped drive rapid integration of financial and business systems to assure operational & data consistency.

Oversaw growth of IT team from under 12 to roughly 120, while company grew in numbers, geographically and in market share. Was directly engaged in all aspects of IT, including vendor selection and management, business requirements definition and systems development, database design, desktop & user support, data center operations, networking, telecommunications, office systems (email, file services, audio/video conferencing, customer contact centers, integrated messaging and security. Built an effective global team using internal resources in US, UK, India, Taiwan, Philippines, and Latin America, Implemented 2 Global ERP systems, including Oracle E-Business Suite. Spearheaded highly effective end-user-enabled Data Warehouse & reporting system.

Handled all vendor management functions for the bank and managed a small MIS team supporting internal IT systems, word processing, data communications and phone systems. Also managed the bank's check processing function, including scanning, data entry, and bulk filing.

Started career as Programmer/Analyst for service bureau providing banking applications for small banks and Savings & Loans in Hawaii. Supported online teller network and back-office reporting for client financial institutions. Used programming skills to develop real-time transaction processing network, supporting one of the first shared ATM networks in the country. Designed and developed HELP (Hawaiian Editor and Library Package) -- an online editing and source control package for developers, when punched "IBM" cards was the norm. HELP was eventually installed at roughly 100 customers across the US. Travelled the US installing the system and training developers.
