Preparation of a variety of bid packages for various clients

My time with Brightwater Engineers mostly consisted of work in the Coal and Mineral Processing sector. My role consisted of taking a brief from the Client, designing the process and outline plant GA's, bringing together the budget, timeline and offer, signing off with the Client and acting as Technical Advisor to the project going forward. This work required a high degree of travel, largely to the West Coast South Island. Successful coal processing projects carried out were with Solid Energy, Pike River Coal and Bathurst Resources. Project values were between $1M and $112M.I was also seconded to Oceana Gold, Reefton, as a Project Manager and then acting branch Manager for the construction of the mines civil infrastructure which included the Inangahua River bridge crossing, site access roading, stormwater runoff and three large earth gravity dams. This work involved complete contract from Tender documentation through to Completion Certificates. Total project value was about $6M.My involvement at Solid Energy's Stockton Mine also included design and construction of a fully automated site runoff water treatment plant which was capable of handling and treating 800 l/s mine influence runoff water. Total project value was $10M.My initial role with Brightwater Engineering was as a project manager, fabricating and site erecting structural steel and conveyors on projects such as Clandeboye new boiler coal handling system and new Centreport articulated vehicle loading ramp for Kaitaki Interislander.I also completed a feasibility study for a new aggregate crushing plant at BHP Billiton's proposed Olympic Dam expansion project.

During this period I consulted in various roles (Design Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Manager) to the Timber, Pulp and Paper (recovery), Power Generation, Dairy and Aircraft Industries:Timber - Evergreen Forests, Whangarei, Log debarking plant. Weyerhaeuser, Blenheim, sawmill upgrade and new steam generation plant. Fletcher Challenge Forests, Waipa and Taupo, new packet dipping plants. Tasman Lumber, Rainbow Mountain and Kawerau, new sawmill complexes. Pulp and Paper (recovery) - CHH, Kinleith, TRS stripper upgrade.Power Generation - Kiwi Dairies, Hawera, new Co-generation and associated Services Complex, new 30MW steam turbine.Dairy - Kiwi Dairies, Hawera, Powder plant exhaust air scrubbers, cow water plant installation, water demineralisation, high temperature hot water production, condensate recovery, heat exchangers, compressed air generation and product flow systems.Aircraft - Air New Zealand, Mangere, engine breakdown and flyaway kits for CF6-80A2 & C2, LM5000, LM6000 and CFM56-3 commercial aircraft and power generation engines.
