Role Description• Develop and implement strategic learning initiatives for the College which identify and meet current and future learning needs of the College's teaching staff;• Lead and oversee the operation of the College’s professional learning communities, including Professional Learning Groups, action research teams, Professional Learning Facilitators and informal learning programs amongst staff;• Lead the College’s E-Learning leaders in developing and implementing technological initiatives that promote quality learning and teaching;• Coordinate and take responsibility for the budget of professional learning programs that address identified needs, promote educational best practice and are supported by appropriate research;• Coordinate all staff professional learning days, events, opportunities, tracking, feedback and follow up;• Work with Heads of Department to drive the research, reflection and thinking into best practice and innovation in classroom pedagogy;• Lead in the innovation of teaching by example through maintaining outstanding classroom practice;• With the Head of Human Resources, lead the process of induction of secondary teachers to Newington's culture of learning;• Lead and manage the College’s Professional Review and Development model;• Lead, manage, monitor and evaluate the College’s expectations of teaching staff to meet mandatory professional learning hours;• Coordinate the process of teacher accreditation through the College’s TAA;• Coordinate the placement of pre-service teachers and the College’s University of Sydney scholarship program;• Support staff welfare policies and initiatives;• Undertake asks allocated by the Deputy Head of Stanmore (Academic) to support the College’s academic programs;• Undertake tasks allocated by the Headmaster and/or Deputy Headmaster/Head of Stanmore as a member of the Secondary Leadership Team.
