This can sometimes be brutal intellectually, but it keeps you well rounded. Rampant is by far the healthiest work culture I've experienced. If I present a good idea it often becomes part of process. We openly share our knowledge internally and study is encouraged. If I'm sick or have an urgent family matter, I'm supported. So I'll probably stick around until they kick me out or I simply age out of the job.

    Initial Formation: When I finished working with my last position, I decided that I was ready to start my own business so that I would have creative control, complete autonomy, and would be sweating over something that would benefit me and satisfy my expectation of what such an organization should be to the community. I also wanted to avoid working 40-80 hours per week to receive a miniscule fraction of the revenue that work generated. I've been very happy with my decision and I have every confidence that my clients would suggest that this has been a win for them as well. This worked out exactly as one might have expected. It turns out that you need good marketing and accounting skills to run a business. Technical prowess alone doesn't cut it.
