Trade certified as an Artisan Plumber and Drainlayer in 1992. I have More than 30 years experience in construction project management, with 20 years in the retail industry. in order to improve my effectiveness I Self-taught several technical aspects applicable to supermarket industry, including Refrigeration systems, LED lighting and energy efficiencies, building standards, and supermarket cold chain standards. I Authored several SPAR Guideline manuals for these technical standardsm, and have been described as being skilled in copywriting and creation of descriptive editorial content. I possess a high technical IQ and have excellent problem solving skills.Having grown up on a small farm I was accustomed to hard physical work from an early age, I could drive a truck by the age of 9 and spent many days working the fields with a tractor. I was taught that there was no job too small, too technical, or too dirty to avoid, as such I have always been highly competent with working with my hands, whether it in support of my vehicle restoration and modification hobby, or steel fabrication, electrical work, or plumbing.I have been co-owner of a fuel and service station, owner of a plumbing company, a construction site manager, a project manager, and even spent 7 years in film action vehicle coordination and stunt driving, something I began doing at the age of 14. I completed my National military service with Airforce Intelligence under the compulsory enlistment rules of the South African government in the early 1990's, an experience which reinforced my self-belief, sense of responsibility and accountability, as well as giving me a valuable sense of respect for ones fellow person.I strongly believe in having a healthy respect and support for those who support you, whether it be family and friends, or the companies, suppliers and customers you work with. I support teamwork and problem resolution, and I don't believe there is anything to be gained from dragging people down for past errors. There is far more to be gained from supporting and educating others to circumvent the repetition of past mistakes. The past cannot be undone, but it can be repeated, we must work together to grow beyond our previous shortcomings.
