Senior software engineer on the Air Force’s Eastern Range Command Destruct subsystem upgrade project. I provided both software and systems engineering support. My leadership responsibilities included leading a team of three engineers who completed the design and development of a specialized command receiver test tool created for requirement verification of the delivered system. Additional activities have included requirements analysis, technical analysis and reporting, test tool development, test procedure development, and training development.Previous duties at Exelis included the technical lead for the Jonathan Dickinson Missile Tracking Annex (JDMTA) command destruct upgrade project which consisted of ten full-time hardware, software and test engineers along with part-time support from engineering support groups. Additional tasking is a mixture of system engineering, software engineering, and project management. These activities included technical leadership, cost account management, risk management, software hazard analysis, requirements definition, implementation and verification of software configuration items, verification and validation, and training.

Senior systems engineer supporting NASA's Constellation program. My primary activities on the Constellation program were the Ground Operation Planning Database (GOPDb) and the Ground Systems/Flight Vehicle Interface Requirements Document (IRD) and Interface Control Document (ICD). I completed the GOPDb proof-of-concept which was well received by the customer and resulted in additional funding and tasking to maturing the tool into a collaborative web application. IRD/ICD activities included requirement development and ICD content development. During a portion of the ICD’s development, I was the technical lead and was responsible for coordinating the activities of the engineering team located at Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC), and the first stage contractor ATK in Utah and MSFC.

Software engineer supporting various projects on the Air Force’s Eastern and Western Range. I was the project manager for replacing an obsolete computer system and a scientific application suite with upgraded components and software. Additional activities included coordinating with stakeholders, project planning, and project budgeting. Additional non-project management activities included mentoring junior project managers, cost and schedule oversight for all software projects, project proposal development, and resource management for the software department.

Systems engineer, Electrical, supporting NASA for the Orbital Space Plane/Advanced Projects Development programs. Projects included developing the concept for using expendable launch vehicles (Atlas V and Delta IV) for the Orbital Space Plane; concept development for the launch vehicle health monitor for the Orbital Space Plane; and supporting NASA’s Atlas V certification program for the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter and Pluto New Horizon’s Programs. Additional activities included evaluating NASA and contractor generated technical studies, generation of task orders and roadmaps; and acting as NASA's representative and technical interface at design and technical meetings.

Provided hardware, software and system engineering support for seismic arrays under the SEALS contract to the US Air Force. The arrays developed and installed under this contract are used for monitoring the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. I served as lead engineer on a project to install a seismic array in Kazakhstan. Customers included a U.S. government agency, the Provisional Technical Secretariat (U.N. organization), and a Kazakhstan governmental agency.

Provided the same level of support as the SAIC position. Transitioned to the SAIC position following my initial consulting role through Innovative Employee Solutions.

Provided life cycle engineering support for seismic arrays to Honeywell Technology Solutions for the Air Force’s International Seismic Arrays Installation program. The arrays developed and installed under this contract are used for monitoring the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. My primary duties and responsibilities included system design, development, test, training, integration, and maintenance.
