Currently employed as a Sergeant, Special Investigations Unit Port Orange Police Department. Previously employed with the Daytona Beach Police Department from 1973 through 1993. During this time I worked in the following capacities: Patrol Division, Special Events Tactical Unit, Street Crimes Unit, Traffic Division, Field Training Officer, and K-9 Unit which I was the Supervisor of until my retirement. Detective Division both as an Investigator and as a Sergeant ofthe Detective Division. After that time, I was hired by the Port Orange Police Department in December of 1993 Since that time, I worked in the Patrol Division, and as a K-9 Officer prior to being assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division in 2001. In the capacity of Detective, Iwas assigned to numerous investigations pertaining to Homicides, Sexual Battery,Child Abuse, Elderly Abuse, Sex Crimes, Computer Crimes, Missing Persons, andNarcotics Investigations, as well as all other types of general Criminal Investigations.During my career as in Law Enforcemnt which has currently spanned 41 years I attended training classes regarding several different areas of police work which are as follows: Associateof Science Degree Criminal Justice, Basic Law Enforcement Training, IntoxilyzerOperator, Traffic Homicide Investigation, K-9 Training, K-9 Narcotics Detection, FieldTraining Officer, Narcotics Identification, Interview and Interrogation, Elder Abuse,Homicide Investigation, Domestic Violence, Human and Cultural Diversity, FCIC NCICtraining, Radar Speed Measurement, Advanced Homicide Investigations, Child SexualAbuse Training, Homeland Security, Intellgence, and Line Supervision. I also attended classes including Professionalism and Leadership in Law Enforcement, Leadership in Police NarcoticsUnits, Ethics and Leadership, Electronic Surveillance Techniques, Use and Control ofPolice Informants, and Asset Forfeiture, and D.E.A. Narcotics Training 80 hour course.

  This unit of the Criminal Investigations Division is charged primarily with the detection and investigation of Narcotics related crimes, gang activity, and vice crimes. Detectives assigned to this unit are typically experienced Investigators, and assist with all major cases within the Criminal Investigations Division. As the Supervisor in charge of this unit, I am additionally charged with completeing Background Investigations, Criminal and for new Officers or city employees, Homeland Security Liason, and the Officers from Port Orange P.D. who are assigned to the Countywide Meth Lab clean up unit.
