Beginning in 1976, I had a distinguished career in municipal and county law enforcement in New England that included patrol, investigative, undercover and intelligence assignments, and culminated in my appointment as Chief of Police in a small Vermont community. I also served for several years as a certified instructor of criminal law at the Vermont Police Academy. In 1992 I founded New England Investigative Services, a private investigation and security firm in New England specializing in employment screening, background investigations, and personal security solutions. My work included a contract to provide security and executive protection for the WWF-NY, a World Wrestling Federation venue in Times Square. As a Training Manager for the Transportation Security Administration’s Baggage Screener Training Program, I oversaw on-the-job training of 29,000 screeners and managed more than 1,300 assessors on explosive and trace detection systems nationwide. Deployed with Blackwater Worldwide on the Department of State “High Threat Protection Iraq Mission”, I was also the Acting Project Manager at Blackwater’s “Team House” in Baghdad for a short time. Prior to this, I served in Afghanistan as a contractor on the U.S. Agency for International Development “Rehabilitation of Economic Facilities and Services” program. In 2005, I co-founded Source Group International (SGI), an Orlando, Florida, investigative & security services firm. I contracted with Blackwater Security on the FEMA Katrina Relief Program, assigned to the Tactical Operations Center as liaison with the Contractor Officer's Representative.I was then employed as a background investigator on a contract with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, and later, DCSA. I am a member of the American Board for Certification in Homeland Security, the American Society of Industrial Security International, the National Sheriff’s Association, and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
