Resigned to relocate from Auckland to the Manawatu

Not really employed in the role I'd signed up to - left in pursuit of a greater challenge.

Led a major project to bring vehicle maintenance in house after 17 years of contracted support. Grew and developed a team of 30 to fulfil varying positions from inventory control, bin and compactor maintenance, to a double shift of heavy automotive engineers. Key measurable milestones of reducing maintenance costs and increasing vehicle reliability were achieved early in the project scope thanks to an awesome supportive and hard working team.

Managed the primary processing of poultry from live bird reception, slaughter, pluck, evisceration through to spin chill. I had a team of 34 staff with varying skills and of many cultures. I learned a great deal about the FMCG environment and through my background I was able to compliment the role by coordinating all Repairs and Maintenance of the plant, facilities and vehicles.

Supervised a shift in the Pipe and Light Plate Plant manufacturing varying sizes of pipe, RHS, and flat plate.The team consisted of 20 staff fulfilling roles such as slitting hot rolled coil, machining pipe and RHS, galvanizing lifts of product, bundling and threading, loading and dispatch.

Regular Force CadetQualified as an Automotive Engineer - Petrol and Heavy Vehicle (Diesel)Fulfilled many maintenance roles as a hands-on tradesman repairing a variety of vehicle from motorcycles, light 4x4, medium to heavy truck/trailer, and tracked armoured fighting vehicles. Spent 4 years as sole charge VM managing and maintaining a small fleet of 20 vehicles in Auckland. Carried out pre-receipt and post repair quality assurance inspections before moving on to coordinating repairs through supporting external repair agencies.I held many roles as a Workshop Production Manager in Auckland and Palmerston North coordinating manufacture, maintenance and repair by five technical trade groups (Veh Mechanic, Maintenance Fitter, Electrician, Electronic Technician and Armourers). I spent two years at the Army Trade Training School in Trentham coordinating a talented team of technicians to develop and implement a transitional training package to bridge a technology gap when Defense introduced the Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV) into service.I have completed many Leadership Training courses including qualifying as a Leadership Facilitator to assist in the implementation of the Army Leadership Framework. I ended my military service for family reasons spending the last 12 months of my career with the Army Logistic Command unit reviewing and developing Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul and Recovery (MROR) policy and doctrine.
