Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board, Frankfort

The purpose of the Kentucky Troops to Teachers (TTT) Program is to assist Active Duty; National Guard; Military Reserve members and honorably discharged veterans from all eras who desire to transition to teaching in public schools. This program is managed by the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) under the Department of Defense. The Kentucky TTT office is strategically placed with the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB) which also has oversight of this program. This unique location in the Division of (Teacher) Certification and the programs relationship with the EPSB allows for streamlined and seamless support of program participants within current regulations and educational guidelines. Kentucky TTT participants have earned their certification and employment in as fast as three months in some cases even though the process normally takes up to one year. The process is dependent upon the participant, education level attained, years of military experience; content area and praxis results. TTT actively seeks teachers for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and other hard sciences. We can assist our participants with any content area that is offered in the public school system. There is up to a $10,000 bonus for qualified applicants who teach in a high need school. JROTC Instructors can earn up to a $5,000 bonus through this program if they are registered in TTT prior to employment and teach in a qualifying school. Registration does not obligate an applicant to teach. Registration prior to employment is required before bonus money can be paid. TTT offers support throughout the entire process of registration, certification and employment.

Assumed a progarm with 52 cadets and built it to 156 cadets in 2 years. Students demonstrated the first POW/MIA Ceremony in Kentucky. Modernizd our rifles. Cadets earned 4 year scholarships. Made the program attractive to all students with the addition of varsity football players; varsity volleyball players; a varsity cheerleader; cross-country track runners; academic team members; etc...

The United States Army Judge Advocate Generals Legal Center And School

Led and managed 5 employess to include responsibility for the JAG Hotel; Transportation Office; Front Desk; and served as the G2 and G4. Project Officer for Expansion of School; Served on a number of hiring committees. Rewrote directors position for GS-14. Evaluated hotels in the Charlottesville area for the US Army. Viewed Harvard Law School, The US Air Force Jag School and many others to incorporate best practices as well as products for the expansion.

Served as a career Field Artillery Officer in numerous Field Artillery and staff assignments.

Fort Stewart, Ga

Director responsible for the Fort Stewart, GA Directorate of Training on the staff of the Garrison Commander and 3rd Infantry Division. Responsible for 276 soldiers and civilians with a $11.2 Million Dollar Budget and more than 277,000 acres of land to include training areas and live fire ranges. There were three GS-13 Division Chiefs responsible for Range Control; the Simulation Centers and the Training Aids and Simulation Center. Additionally twelve GS-12 were responsible for National Guard and Reserve Components; Nuclear Biological and Chemical Office; the Third Infantry Division Museum and numerous other divisions. One of the largest achievements was gaining approval for the Distance Learning Center after leadership said it would never happen on their watch. Secured more than $400,000 in FORSCOM funds and procured a building serving as a combat brigade dining facility which was revamped and turned into the Distance Learning Center. This learning center saved Fort Stewart, GA tens of thousands and potentially hundreds of thousands in training dollars.

Lexington, Kentucky Military Police Company, Usmcr

Went to boot camp at Paris Island, SC in July 1978 followed by Military Police School at Fort McClellan, AL. Reported to unit in January 1979 for duty in the Lexington Military Police Company of the Marine Reserves. That service made me realize that I wanted to become an officer and later I joined the US Army ROTC and graduated as a DMG and Who's Who followed by a 20+ year career.
