I continued performing as Acting Unit Manager from May 2011 to August 2011. I was temporarily promoted (NTE 1 year) to GS-12, Unit Manager, August 2011. I was promoted to the position permanently in June 2012. I was reduced in grade to GL-9 from October 2013 to June 2014. I was returned to GS-12 in June 2012.I directed the day to day operations of three housing units. I supervised nine staff. I provided monthly training to staff on new programs and procedures. I taught classes during Admissions and Orientation, Institution Familiarization, Annual Refresher Training and Department Head Meetings. I prevented violence among inmates and have had to inform inmates of a death in their family. I provided input regarding an inmate's program needs after reviewing all available information. I determined if the allegation against the inmate was supported and, if found guilty, I imposed penalties in accordance with established law.
