Mechanical Designer
• Assisted in the implementation of design, CAD models and drawings of welding fixtures for the NASA HALO (Habitation and Logistics Outpost) program.• Was design lead for a recently completed series of two prototype thermal panels for a Ball Aerospace IRAD (Internal Research and Development) project.• Contributed greatly to the implementation of design, CAD models and drawings of a scalable space inertial reference unit (SSIRU) for the Next-Generation Overhead Persistent Infrared (Next-Gen OPIR) Polar program for the US Space Force.• Was design lead in the implementation of design, CAD models and drawings for the integrated thermal system portion of Northrup Grumman’s NASA Cygnus CRS (Commercial Resupply Services) missions. Was instrumental in assisting the delivery of ND-12 for this project that was launched on November 2, 2019 in 1/3 the normal time.• Supported the design of the Ball Aerospace Sunshade project.• Supported design, modeling and drafting tasks for the integrated thermal system portion of the NASA Mapping Imaging Spectrometer for Europa (MISE) project.• Technological elements utilized at this facility include heat pipes, condensers, evaporators and radiators that are predominantly comprised of aluminum skin/honeycomb core panels.• Utilized PTC CREO 4.0, Creo 7.0 and the PLM system PTC Windchill PDM Link 11.2.1.0, with engineering drawings and related documentation practices performed under ASME Y14.24-2012.• Extensive use of top-down design in implementing Creo skeleton modeling and assembly structure.• Was an integral contributor to assisting our facility’s push to improve drawing release times for our customers.
