•Plan, coordinate, execute and evaluate parks construction, maintenance and special event programs, services and/or processes, including costing, forecasting, and adhering to budgets;•Develop new and/or revise relevant policies and/or standard operating procedures for the section•Delegate work assignments to staff and students ensuring appropriate scheduling and quality•Recruit staff and monitor performance, complete performance appraisals, provide guidance;•Investigate and respond to public inquiries, by-law issues and initiate work orders as appropriate;•Ensure facilities are prepared according to permit requirements for special events;•Accurately maintain daily records for the purpose of tracking, reporting and documenting of maintenance activities and adjust maintenance schedules;•Assist with budget preparation, program development and staff training development;•Ensure all equipment is operated competently, safely and maintained in good operating condition •Keep current with technical, cultural and procedural improvements in parks construction and maintenance;•Train and guide staff, students, part-time staff and volunteers involved in activities; •Assist in the preparation of specifications for purchasing supplies and equipment•Oversee the work of contractors and other service providers.
