 Responsible for mechanical systems for an electric arc furnace and caster, at a mini-mill steel maker. Project leader of new equipment installation, with team members ranging from 2-15. Improvement projects:o Installed a chemical energy injection system to the furnace to increase tons per hour and reduce electrical energy.o Installed a new slag door with an incorporated oxygen/fuel injector to keep the slag door area clear of scrap. Old system was manually operated to clear the furnace door area in preparation of slagging off.o Installed new auto torch to increase reliability of cut lengths of billets to reduce metallic lose.
