Directed all national field and telephone data collection efforts of the U S Census Bureau. Provided strategic leadership to management team at Census headquarters, to staff working out of six regional offices, three telephone centers and the National Processing Center. Manage work of dispersed staff of 10,000+ employees working throughout the U S. Developed strategies and plans to innovate and improve survey methodology and to improve the 2020 Census. Directed all field data collection activities in a five state southeast region on surveys and censuses. Executed all data collection activities on topics including population, employment, income, household expenditures, construction, crime, housing and health. During peak operations of the 2010 census, directed all regional data collection activities including opening of 52 Local Census Offices; recruitment of 370,000 individuals; hiring and training more than 90,000 staff; completion of all census activities ahead of schedule and well below budget; direct all quality control efforts; direct all outreach and public relations with the electronic and print media and with thousands of community partners.
