The approval and design of building plans for fire protection and fire engineering requirements.The development, co-ordination and implementation of Fire Safety By-Laws and providing detailed knowledge thereof to the public in general.The approval and renewal of licenses to store petroleum and LPG.Approval of major hazardous installations.The conducting of fire safety lectures / evacuation drills.Fire investigations to establish the cause of fires.Various inspections of commercial, industrial and places of public entertainment for compliance with Fire Safety requirements.Issuing of Controlled Burning Permits in liaise with Environmental Health Services.Compliance with specific fire safety requirements for Occupancy Approval.Recording data formulation of hazardous materials/permits and high risk occupancies.
