Provide engineering support to all three (3) EN manufacturing sites in Australia.Develop and manage the EN capital program in Australia through capital forecasts, budgets and project plans including resourcing and implementation strategies.Prepare and submit engineering related capital investment projects within Australia.Manage engineering projects ensuring effective cost control, timely delivery and compliance with BASF’s safety and project technical standards. Provide guidance and support to manufacturing sites on maintenance activities and improvement techniques. Provide maintenance support to three Beta- carotene manufacturing sites (3) to continuously improve plant reliability and cost effectiveness. Work closely with Operations and Maintenance teams to implement BASF's safety standards and support safety targets.Develop and maintain ongoing process and equipment improvement plans to provide optimum quality, efficiency and safety outcomes for the EN business.Work with production staff to take corrective action on equipment or process failures.Provide assistance to Site Management in relation to maintenance and repair projects. Ensure all regulatory standards on safety, emissions etc are met and maintained. Assist production personnel with strategies to maximise energy consumption efficiency and minimise waste generation. Assist EHS team in ensuring Process Safety concepts are developed, maintained and improved.

Karumba

Project goal was to improve plant performance with no or little financial expenditure. Prepare project scopes for Asset Utilisation Improvement Projects, undertake root cause analysis on identified equipment, prepare reports with recommended corrective actions, prepare work and safety instruction documentation and implement improvements. Develop submissions for capital expenditure arising from project investigations.

Western Port

Lead a group of plant based Electrical and Mechanical Reliability Engineers, develop a systematic approach to reliability with a continuous improvement philosophy, provide engineering/technical support to departments for chronic equipment issues, review plant reliability performance and recommend improvements, influence process units to adopt best practice in reliability and asset management.Responsible for the Reliability function for the Western Point site which included provision of systems and processes, reliability improvement capabilities are focused on key issues, training and development of skilled resources and management of systems to capture and record key reliability data. The role was also expanded to include radiation safety for the site. Key responsibilities: Process and systems in place to capture knowledge (i.e. where and how information is stored and retrieved) Developing and deploying reliability standards (i.e. Australian Standards, engineering standards and reliability measures) Mentoring and support for key maintenance roles such as Maintenance Strategists, Reliability Engineers and Reliability Technicians. Reliability improvement capabilities are focused on key issues and resources are effectively deployed to plant priorities. Equipment reliability improvements have business case developed and are appropriately resourced. Site leader for Radiation Safety

Manage and lead a group of technical personnel (automation engineers, process technologists, maintenance strategists, reliability technicians, and condition monitoring, combustion and hydraulics specialists) to support the process unit, provide engineering/technical support to the department, identify cost reduction and process improvements opportunities, and improve the maintenance strategy.Responsible for creating a process unit development plan, preparation and review of capital and maintenance budgets, improvements to the maintenance strategy, implementation of process improvements and cost reduction initiatives, manage risks and statutory compliance for the business unit and participate in operational safety reviews.Key responsibilities: Create a development plan including business case for the process unit  Assist with the development of yearly capital and maintenance budget Review monthly budget expenditures Update and improve the maintenance strategy Implement process improvement and cost reduction initiatives  Lead risk assessments and manage risk register for the department Manage statutory compliance issues (e.g. environmental, pressure vessels, fire systems and cranes). Participate in BSL HSM networks (mill stability and reheat furnaces)
