Anglo American Grosvenor Mine

TOLK Group. Anglo Grosvenor Mine Mechanical Coordinator. Tolk Group is assisting Anglo with Longwall Installations and Longwall moves at their 3x Queensland sites, Grosvenor, Grasstree & Moranbah North. At Grosvenor we assisted with the surface minibuild of their new Joy Longwall package, dismantled the equipment for transport underground, produced detailed SWI for safe transport of equipment underground and installation and assembled Longwall for production 2 months ahead of budget. Tolk Group moved to Grasstree for their LW move where I was the weekend mechanical coordinator during the move. We have now come back to Grosvenor to receive delivery of Kit 2 Joy Longwall and install underground ready for production.

Cook Colliery, Blackwater, Qld

I was the site representative for Nepean Longwall providing assistance with the mini-build, site delivery, installation and commissioning of the new China manufactured Longwall equipment being installed at Cook Colliery. As the site representative I am the first point of contact between site and the Longwall OEM's (Nepean Longwall, Nepean Power, Tiefenbach, Eickhoff, BMJ Roof Supports & Longwall Hydraulics) while driving the equipment installation standards and commissioning process and production support.

Narrabri Coal Operations

I assisted Narrabri Coal in meeting its safety and production targets through scheduling and coordinating the Longwall maintenance activities. I coordinate short and longer-term production schedules that are vital for implementing strategies aimed at continuous improvement in equipment utilization and Longwall production performance while promoting safe working behaviours and standards. I managed the mechanical Longwall move planning for Narrabri Coals second longwall move and assisted in the continuous improvement of equipment and procedures.

Narrabri Coal Operations, Nsw

Reviewing and writing Longwall move recovery and installation procedures. Supervision of personnel and processes during Narrabri Coal’s first Longwall move. Commissioning of equipment and implementation of maintenance and operational procedures.

Moranbah North

Reporting to the Longwall Superintendent and forming part of the management team of the Longwall department, I assisted Moranbah North Coal in meeting its safety and production targets through scheduling and coordinating the Longwall maintenance activities. I coordinate short and longer-term production schedules that are vital for implementing strategies aimed at continuous improvement in equipment utilization and Longwall production performance while promoting safe working behaviours and standards. I am involved in preparing scopes of work for equipment modifications & overhauls concentrating on continuous improvement of equipment

Moranbah North

Assisting Moranbah North with the Longwall Overhaul and Re-Hand, Driving Change Management, equipment commissioning and site introduction.

Reporting directly to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, I plan, organise & manage the major mechanical projects such as mechanical equipment overhauls and new equipment purchases to deliver the agreed scope, to the required quality standards and within budget/ time, and identify and manage other projects to improve the safety and performance of mechanical equipment and processes. I am responsible for the entire project from project planning, construction of scopes of works, tender valuations, application for finance and contract administration. Once the projects are approved, contract execution, project management, budget forecasting and variation authorities, ensuring quality standards and safety are met, concentrating on continuous improvement of equipment.

Oaky Creek No 1 Mine

Reporting to the Longwall Superintendent and forming part of the management team of the department, I have assisted Oaky Creek Coal in meeting its safety and production targets through scheduling and coordinating the Longwall maintenance activities. I coordinate short and longer-term production schedules that are vital for implementing strategies aimed at continuous improvement in equipment utilization and Longwall production performance while promoting safe working behaviours and standards. I am involved in preparing scopes of work for equipment modifications & overhauls concentrating on continuous improvement of equipment.
