I am currently the Managing Partner with EMMLAW, (formerly Evans MacIsaac MacMillan) which has 9 lawyers and a support staff of 10. The firm has been operating out of Port Hawkesbury since 1961 but in 2015 expanded to Antigonish by opening offices at the St. Andrews Professional Centre. After commencing my legal career in Gander, Newfoundland I joined EMMLAW in 1984. Over the years I practiced in many areas but now my focus is almost strictly on Criminal and Family Law. However, I'm also a standing agent for the Public Prosecution Service of Canada which involves prosecutions under Federal Statutes being primarily drug and fishery offences.EMMLAW continues do be a very busy law firm in the Counties of Inverness, Richmond, Antigonish and Guysborough as well as other areas. It is a general law practice with firm lawyers having the experience to provide most legal services required by clients. We also can provide legal services in French. We are very confident that we will continue to grow and will be expanding our areas of practice.Aside from professional activities I was heavily involved in community activities over the years. I was most pleased to be recognized by the Province of Nova Scotia for my community services in 2000. Most people in the community would be aware of my involvement in baseball as a coach and umpire, as well as my role as President of the Strait Area Minor Baseball Association for many years.My wife and I raised 5 children mostly in the Strait area. Two have been able to remain in the area but unfortunately like many other young people the others have gone elsewhere for employment including 2 in Alberta.Hiking and cross-country skiing are a couple of my passions.
