• Worked on several new and retrofit projects related to Nuclear Plant monitoring systems. Involved with hardware design, cabinet design, software interface, test validation, software releases and issue tracking. Was onsite during 4 refueling outages when systems were installed and commissioned. Typical system consisted of 3,000 to 5,000 I/O signals and 15-25 cabinets.• Developed a process to automatically generate AutoCAD drawings from a project specific database in seconds per page. Drawing packages included I/O loop drawings, Cabinet layouts, Cable Block diagrams, and Cable Connection Diagrams. Drawing packages ranged from 50 to 5000 pages. Utilized the same technology to generate documents for I/O testing based on database point configurations. The results reduced man-weeks of effort on each project it was utilized. Process has been used on every major DCS project since initial deployment (including all 6 new plant projects). Process included I/O database validation, cabinet configuration audits and I/O test data sheets. Process involved 2 applications, and over 30,000 lines of VB code developed myself over a 4 year period. Nominated for a Westinghouse Innovation award. Discussed the technology with inhouse patent attorneys for patent consideration.

Responsible for all the electrical and mechanical maintenance, automation, manufacturing and control systems for a 24/7 manufacturing operation with an extreme hands-on culture. • Tracked budgets, oversaw maintenance department staffing requirements, assisted with day to day issues, coordinated capital improvements, eliminated downtime through continuous improvement activities. • Managed 4 direct report engineers for the facility with over 26 PLC based control systems on 8 manufacturing lines. Majority of capital improvements were done with in-house resources.

Responsible for supporting manufacturing, system upgrades, retrofits, and process improvements. Was the only EE onsite during this period.• Converted 7 of 8 manufacturing lines to PLC based control systems consisting of 1 PLC, at least 2 coordinated AC drives, 100 I/O points, 10 HMI screens, and several pushbutton stations. • Networked all PLC and HMI based systems. • Added machine diagnostics to all PLC based systems to minimize downtime and off shift phone calls. • Introduced AC Servo technology to the facility including conversion of 2 drive systems from AC motor to AC servo.Skills Acquired at Anchor Hocking: A/B Drives and Servos (AC Inverter), PLC’s (RSLogix 5,500,5000), PanelViews, Intellutions FIX32 MMI, OPC, DDE, MS Access, Visual Basic 6.0, Multi-axis pick and place and Arc Flash analysis. Also developed a strong appreciation of the demands of a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
