I led a team of 14 HR Directors and 102 Area HR Managers during a time of organizational cultural change and positioned HR to champion that change and become a valuable partner to the business. As the organization was experiencing cultural changes, my accomplishments included aligning leadership competencies and learning with Lowe’s Purpose and behaviors. I reevaluated, removed, and simplified HR policies and procedures in order to allow both leaders and employees the opportunity to focus on activities that had a direct impact on customers and sales. For example, I reduced the time to fill critical positions by adjusting the selection process and using data to better target talent pools and sourcing tools. Additionally, I introduced the organization to a more simplistic annual performance model by adjusting annual performance review for leaders, reducing redundancy and creating a level specific process that gave back valuable time to the business.

As Manager of College Recruiting at Lowe’s, I was responsible for leading the College annual recruiting cycle which included partnering with business leaders on talent needs, identification of target universities and allocation of recruiting headcount and resources to fill those positions. Additionally, during my time as Manager of College Recruiting, I expanded our activities to include Internships and Military Recruitment. As a result of our strategic focus on sourcing talent, we achieved a 70% conversion rate of Interns and sustained an aggressive Corporate and Field talent expansion program.
