Client Electrical Engineer (site based) for a $500M (AUD) HV and LV switchboard upgrade in an operating LNG plant located on the north west coast of Western Australia. The facility boasts 5 LNG process trains, 2 domestic gas extraction and compression trains, 3 fractionation process trains, 5 condensate stabilising trains, associated utilities, 10 power generation turbines (280 MW total) and 33, 6.6 and 0.415 kV power distribution systems.The upgrade is in execution as a brownfields project, where switchboard replacement is performed with minimal impact to production. To plan such a project requires Electrical Engineering, process operation, process mass balance interface between all processes, along with stakeholder management of the EP contractor, facility maintenance and operations teams.I was asked to fill the site based role when the project moved into execution, working for the delivery team. Prior to execution I worked in the engineering phase with the EP contractor to develop package engineering requirements, execution risk assessments and planning. In execution I assess engineering site queries, work with the EP to solve commissioning issues and maintain stakeholder relationships. My career skills lean towards me being the optimum candidate to fill this role.

Member of the Karratha Gas Plant high voltage team tasked with a new project which is time critical with a multi solution approach. Critical skills are the ability to work under extreme pressure and attention to detail. Successful outcomes were the repair of high resistance joints on a 2500A bus, replacement and commissioning of control panels, refurbishment of a severely damaged 6.6kV distribution board, replacement of protection relays, repair of HV cable joins and terminations, transformer testing and repairs, all with no uncontrolled process outages.Member of the Karratha Gas Plant Engineering Response Team. Specifying new equipment in response to obsolescence issues and supporting front line engineering in solving longer term problems.Developing performance standards for electrical safety critical elements. The Safety Case stipulates the accident event barriers. The safety critical elements support those barriers. This role involves an understanding of process safety and an ability to perform in a multi-disciplinary project team. The deliverable is a performance standard, identification of the elements, grouping of the elements and assurance tasks.
