Manufacturers Sales Rep for the microwave and RF industry.
  • Sensotec Corporation
    Consulting Engineer
    Sensotec Corporation Jul 2001 - Sep 2003
Created new products for the Wireless Data Group for Sensotec Corporation including data acquisition equipment and wireless sensors. Support of the GFD/DFD system release to an OEM user.Designed a thermocouple measurement system to incorporate Sensotec design innovations bridging Wireless Data and Sensotec technologies. Product complimented the Wireless Data low level gage system broadening the capabilities for the Wireless Data product lines in filling customer requirements. Redesigned thick film substrates used in the high G-force transmitter series, updating circuitry and replacing obsolete components which were included in prior production designs.Trained Sensotec personnel in the operation, construction, testing and troubleshooting of Wireless Data equipment. Interfaced with customers to successfully integrate wireless solution and develop improvements to the Wireless Data product line.
  • Wireless Data Corporation
    Senior Engineer
Wireless Data Corporation Jan 1990 - Jun 2001
Developed 95% of the company's new products and was involved with other projects as a team member. Advanced Wireless Data products into micro-controller based designs to simplify circuits and add user friendly features. Digitized previously analog measurement instruments for improved communication reliability and accuracy. Supported production and managed the engineering change order system.Developed Rotary Kiln Thermocouple System with digital transmission, error detection, thermocouple curve correction, and alarm capability. Designed system to be installed in the field by a user with no special training.Redesigned a low level Whetstone Bridge system improving capability, flexibility and adding numerous system features without an increase in production price. Designed Ground Fault Detection and Diode Fault Detection System for large generators developed for continuously changing customer requirements. Microcontrollers allowed for a flexible design which was easily adapted to changing customer needs.Created a third generation battery powered dynamic strain transmitter. Transmitter incorporated updated electronic and assembly technologies which integrated off the shelf technologies and replaced custom components resulting in a 84% cost reduction.
  • Acurex Corporation
    Staff Engineer
    Acurex Corporation Oct 1977 - Dec 1989
Adapted and developed many products as project lead to provide solutions for customer requirements. Developed specifications, provided project cost estimates, and created and maintained project schedules. Wrote user manuals and provided training to customers on Acurex equipment.Designed wireless static strain system that reduced labor content by over 80% and material costs by 50% by incorporating technological advances and innovative designs. Additional benefits included improving accuracy by a factor of two and simplifying the user set-up, interface and system calibration.Created design for a configurable multi-function receiver. The development included: RF tuner, RF filter, analog filter, digital and analog signal processing, power supply, and packaging design. The project resulted in an easy to use system with intuitive and ergonomic controls that allowed user configuration and re-configuration. Product received high praise from customers and production personnel.Designed a second generation battery powered dynamic strain transmitter. Redesigned an obsolete product resulting in improved reliability, reduced material and labor costs, and allowed a price reduction that improved sales while increasing its profit margin to 65%.Incorporated a leading edge technology operational-amplifier which made possible a design to make measurements on whetstone bridges in the environment of 100 degrees C and 30,000 Gs rotational operation. Product developed under a very tight schedule overcoming major development challenges. When the second generation of operational-amplifier became available, the temperature range was increased to 150 degrees C.
