KC Construction Company is a $25 Million leading heavy civil general contractor specializing in Dam Rehabilitation and Flood Control projects. Incorporated in 1983 the company handles the most challenging projects other companies shy away from including Dam Rehabilitation and Levees, Roller Compacted Concrete, Articulated Concrete Block, Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants and formerly Site Development. The company operates in multiple states including PA, NJ, DE, and MD.Reporting to the President my role at KC Construction is full responsibility of accounting operations reporting to the owners of the company:This includes day to day department oversight, all financial reporting, supervision, direction and coaching of all accounting personnel, cash flow management, annual budget and re-forecasting, full audit compliance with certified public accountants, insurance compliance, banking and bonding relationships, and safeguarding of company assets.This role also involves financial statement preparation, cost accounting, work in process, actual to budget monthly variance analysis / discussion, network coordination and oversight with outside consultants, accounting system liaison, pre-qualification duties and other projects assigned by ownership.

Report directly to company president $15 million systems integrator / contracting company.Oversee and direct the day to day operations of the accounting department including G/L, A/R, A/P, payroll, inventory and job costing departments.Supervise, train and coach a staff of five including two accountants and clerical staff.Responsible for monthly financial reporting using Maxwell software including department variances, cash flow management, credit and collections and payroll tax filing oversight.External auditors (CBIZ) main contact. Prepare key year-end schedules including work in process.Coordinate bank lines of credit, company insurance including property & casualty and health insurance.Accomplished accounting department staff reduction headcount streamlining operations for additional company profitablility.

Report directly to strategic business unit Finance Director $14 million manufacturer of electronic cooling units company; owned by Laird Technologies - sales approaching $1 billion.Oversee day to day accounting operations, prepare annual budget and two re-forecasts, monitor spending vs. budget, supervise a staff of three, daily monthly and annual financial reporting including three day month end close, approve financial expenditures, fixed asset reporting, main interface with accountants (Ernst & Young), maintain internal controls, business insurance reporting.

Report directly to President $50 million major electrical contracting company.Responsible for entire accounting system conversion using Geac AEC Business Solutions, Starbuilder accounting package. Coordinated training meetings, assembled staff and directed data entry functions for live transition to new system. Areas converted include general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, job costing and payroll.Oversee accounting department and transaction flow. Responsible for monthly financial statements, month end close, variance analysis, staff supervision of four, W2 magnetic media filings and installing system updates. Also use Crystal reports to download and manipulate reports from the database. Interface directly with external accountants for year end audit and mid year reviews.

Report directly to CFO, $50 million manufacturer of pigment dispersions company.Responsible for all financial reporting functions in a manufacturing environment including preparation of primary financial statements with various supporting schedules using Macola accounting software. Prepare monthly reporting package for upper management’s use in analyzing profitability of the company.Oversee flow of transactions through various departments and meet with department heads to discuss variance positions. Team leader in semi- annual inventory count for manufacturing location. Documented Macola accounting package sub-systems and authored Controller's handbook. Analyze and reconcile all general ledger accounts. Fixed asset accounting preparation.

Responsible for all financial reporting functions including preparation of quarterly financial statements for parent and affiliated companies. Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts.
