Current- Nurture a therapeutic and safe learning environment for all children aged 7 to 16 years with social, emotional, learning and mental health difficulties, including autism and an EHC plan • Work in accordance to safeguarding policies, in order to maintain the child’s wellbeing • Active participant in Child protection, Team around the child and Children in need meetings by writing reports highlighting the child’s emotional wellbeing and history • Create individual behavioural plans and complete risk assessments, with careful consideration on specific learning needs and possible triggers of the child • Carry out 1-1 sessions with students, offering a safe space for the child to talk • Use communicational skills and team teach restraint to de-escalate and contain distressed students • Work in partnership with families, external services and colleagues to develop strategies on how to appropriately support and engage with the student’s wellbeing and learning • Facilitate gang and drug awareness workshops, with focus on providing children with key skills and knowledge about the dangers and risks
