  I am an ecologist, primarily in the Midwest. I am most familiar with the flora, fauna, and natural communities in this region. I conduct plant and animal surveys, and from this and previously existing data I prepare technical reports on the structure and composition of natural communities and ecosystems. These reports include, but are not limited to, analyses of natural quality, community mapping, management needs, and environmental impacts. I have 35 years of experience performing these services for both public and private entities. I now work as an ecological consultant in my own business. As part of my work, I give seminars, train interns and staff, and present my findings at several public and professional society meetings. I have a reputation for accurate and thorough data collection and recording. A few of the conservation groups I have done work for are the Iowa and Illinois Departments of Natural Resources and Nature Preserve Commissions, all of the Forest Preserve and Conservation Districts in NE Illinois, the Village of Long Grove, and The Nature Conservancy. I am an active member of The Nature Conservancy, Natural Areas Association, and the Iowa and Illinois Academies of Science.
