With a proven track record of digital IoT’s innovation and change management with over 20 years experience as a professional Social Worker 10 of which have been managing social work teams within a large LA. I was asked to form a team and develop an idea to introduce smart devices to become a mainstream social care provision. And prove the concept of how digital smart home devices could support social care. This encompassed a service redesign and has seen the concept incorporated in to our business as usual framework. This required designing new referral processes within Liquid Logic, the creation of Business Process Maps and a workforce training plan supporting organisational change.Having been the architect and lead strategist I have effected organisational and cultural change delivering smart devices into the homes of 300 residents in Sunderland. The strategic vision and implementation plan (using e.g. Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings) evidenced a significant operational cost saving with huge projected savings once scaled up to working with the social care population of 2300 clients.Having a working knowledge of professional social care, the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, DoL's, GDPR and the Human Rights Act as well as a detailed knowledge of the IoTs I am uniquely placed to bring all of these together into a new service aligning health and social care needs with the capabilities of smart digital technologies.Sunderland City Council has become a beacon of innovation and creativity leading to the National Award of Smart City of the Year 2020. With a nationwide network of contacts I am in a position to help shape how this technology becomes an integral part of the nations health and social care support system. From introducing the concept of a bespoke software package I have lead a pivotal and influential role in the design and building of a dashboard that enables smart devices of differing manufacturers to “talk” to each other and present the data as one system.
